     Countdown to Launch!

     

    NASA launches the next Space Shuttle mission this Friday, June 8 at 7:38 p.m. (ET). Help your students experience the thrill of exploration as this crew heads for the International Space Station (ISS), working to complete the ISS in preparation for NASA's return to the Moon. Be sure to encourage your students to use their 21st century skills to share their thoughts about the mission with others.

     

     Technologist Talks to Teens

     

    Nortel's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) recently sat down with our teen host to share his vision for the future of technology in education. As CTO, John Roese is responsible for leading the R&D strategy and execution for Nortel. He also works closely with the Chief Strategy Officer on emerging technologies, market opportunities and strategic partnerships.

Nortel LearniT has 25 free, short and engaging video tutorials that will help you outline the process of digital video production.  From writing the script, to getting various shots, to editing the footage this Nortel LearniT series has step-by-step instructions on how to become the next Steven Spielberg.

     

     21st Century eTeacher Training

     

                          

    Working with the Durham Public Schools (DPS) Nortel LearniT will sponsor its first system-wide joint lesson plan development session for DPS teachers on June 14.As part of this project Nortel volunteers will work with teachers to help them develop new technology rich lesson plans that reflect real world applications of technology, problem solving and Internet based research for application to everyday situations.
